My work sits on both sides of the stack. On one side: containers, VPCs, CDK stacks, CI/CD and the unglamorous work of making a legacy service run somewhere new without forking it. On the other: interfaces people use every day, where a slow dashboard is a real cost to a real administrator.

Most of what I have built was not a side project. It was assigned, deployed, and then depended on. Hostel allocation for ten thousand students. Grant proposals for three hundred professors. Payment sessions in production. That constraint has shaped how I write software more than anything else.

Greenfield AWS Migration

Tier 2 payments service, rebuilt on native AWS

Amazon Payments

A Tier 2 payments service lifted onto native AWS in a new region, without forking a single line of it.

Two CloudFormation stacks in AWS CDK (TypeScript): DNS and certificates deploy first and export into the VPC stack that follows.
VPC across 3 availability zones, all subnets PRIVATE_ISOLATED. No NAT gateway, no internet gateway, roughly $300/month saved and a smaller attack surface.
AWS reached through gateway and interface VPC endpoints only, private DNS enabled, one security group allowing 443 from the VPC CIDR.

First place at Smart India Hackathon 2024: a sensing pipeline that reconstructs what a building actually is, then argues with the plan the municipality approved.

Four independent sensing passes fused into one 3D reconstruction, so no single sensor has to be right on its own.
Paired transmitter and receiver drones map interior structure through WiFi and RF behaviour where line of sight fails.
LiDAR point clouds and thermal imaging cover exterior geometry, street view passes fill the facade.

Hostel management for an entire campus

Assigned by the TIET Dean

The system every hostel resident on campus logs into: allocation, mess, laundry, leave and cleaning, all under one role aware roof.

Next.js front end over a Go service layer, PostgreSQL for state and Redis for the read paths that spike during allocation week.
10 to 12 roles across students, wardens and administrators, surfaced through four separate dashboards rather than one page with hidden buttons.
Allocation is a scored assignment problem: CGPA weighted against stated preference, settled through an integrated payment gateway in the same transaction.

Grounded Retrieval Engine

Citation-first retrieval for an AI-native LMS

Architecture specification, v1.0

A retrieval service where every answer resolves to an exact document, page and paragraph, and tenant isolation is a CI test rather than a paragraph in a design doc.

Retrieval as a service: the engine is the sole owner of the indices. Producers upload, consumers call retrieve(), and nothing else touches the stores.
Split by cost profile: ingestion is async and heavy, retrieval is sync and fast, so a large upload can never slow a query.
Four stores behind one interface: a canonical DB, a vector index, a sparse BM25 index and blob storage, with hybrid search plus reranking across them.

Proposals, grants and expert evaluation for a Centre of Excellence run jointly with the University of Queensland, moved off paper entirely.

Next.js with ISR caching on the proposal listings, so faculty wide reads stay instant instead of re-querying on every visit.
