Backend Systems

I build systems that carry weight. Payment services on greenfield AWS, container platforms, and role heavy products that thousands of people log into every day.

01About

Softwareengineerworkingwhereproductmeetsinfrastructure.MostrecentlyatAmazonPayments,whereIownedaTier2servicemigrationontogreenfieldAWSandshippedpaymentfeaturestofullproduction.BeforethatIwasbuildingtheplatformsmyuniversityrunson.

My work sits on both sides of the stack. On one side: containers, VPCs, CDK stacks, CI/CD and the unglamorous work of making a legacy service run somewhere new without forking it. On the other: interfaces people use every day, where a slow dashboard is a real cost to a real administrator.

Most of what I have built was not a side project. It was assigned, deployed, and then depended on. Hostel allocation for ten thousand students. Grant proposals for three hundred professors. Payment sessions in production. That constraint has shaped how I write software more than anything else.

Right now

Six months of payments infrastructure at Amazon behind me, and a B.E. in Computer Science from Thapar Institute closing out.

02Experience

Three places, one pattern: take something people already depend on, and make it hold more weight.

AmazonPayments
Software Development Engineer InternBengaluru, India

Two parallel workstreams over five and a half months: a full infrastructure migration of a Tier 2 payments service onto greenfield AWS, and feature work dialled to 100% of production.

Jan 2026 to Jun 2026

  • Owned migration of a Tier 2 payments service to greenfield AWS with zero fork backward compatibility.
  • Containerized a legacy Java service and built production AWS CDK infrastructure covering networking, security and CI/CD.
  • Drove migration adoption across dependent teams through design docs, onboarding wikis and on call SOPs.
  • Shipped payment features to 100% production and fixed a critical bug impacting 20% of UPI payment sessions.
  • Evaluated implementation trade offs for senior engineers, drove 20+ code reviews across 9+ codebases, and executed 5+ production deployments with zero escalations.
